A pan-European communication campaign in collaboration with more than 70 organisations from across Europe. Under the slogan "A world you like. With a climate you like" the campaign seeks to put practical solutions at the centre of the climate change debate and demonstrate how climate action can increase welfare and bring economic benefits to European citizens.

The MBB is a non-profit organisation acting as the EU support and advisory body for its parent organisations, the Malta Chamber and the MHRA.

The Malta Chamber is a business representative organisation supporting the needs of over 1,000 enterprises ranging from retail and distribution, services and manufacturing sectors.

The MHRA today represents approximately 70% of hotels and restaurants in Malta, collectively representing an investment of over €1.1 billion and employing in excess of 20,000 people.

LIFE is the EU’s financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation projects throughout the EU, as well as in some candidate, acceding and neighbouring countries.

While the EU LIFE+ Investing in Water Project is contributing towards resolving Malta's problem of groundwater over-extraction, the EU LIFE+ Info Nitrates Project is working to resolve pollution of groundwater with nitrates. The project is doing this by working with farmers to decrease the amount of extra fertilizer applied to fields.

Also running in Malta at the moment is the EU LIFE+ DemoEV Project. This project will contribute towards the attainment of a carbon neutral road transportation system in Malta by putting into practice, testing, evaluating and disseminating a number of actions with respect to the achievement of electro-mobility.

Another EU LIFE+ project currently ongoing in Malta is the EU LIFE+ Malta Seabird Project. This project aims to identify Marine Important Bird Areas (IBAs) for three important seabird species which breed in the Maltese islands - Cory’s Shearwater, Yelkouan Shearwater, European Storm Petrel.

The main objective for this project is to achieve reductions in water and energy consumption within Italian urban areas via a combination of new fiscal and communication tools. A wide range of stakeholders will be involved in the process that will comprise the following technical actions:

• Introduction of new rules on urban planning to encourage greater use of technologies/strategies such as rainwater harvesting, grey water recycling and other techniques that will enable more sustainable urban water use; and
• Adoption of tariff schemes aimed at discouraging unwise water use.

Accompanying information efforts will aim to achieve the following:

• Improve knowledge and awareness among professional plumbing organisations about water saving techniques; and
• Ensure effective awareness-raising campaigns are directed at the general public about issues such as sustainable water consumption and associated links with energy consumption.

The Malta Resources Authority is a public corporate body with regulatory responsibilities relating to water, energy and mineral resources in the Maltese Islands. The MRA has wide ranging responsibilities essentially involving regulation of water and energy utilities, industrial enterprises exploiting resources such as oil exploration, quarry operators and private abstractors of groundwater, retailers, operators and tradesmen in the regulated sectors.
